Maybe we're far enough south of you to be ahead with that though? We have many varieties of dry beans and they're harvested just as you wrote, the men set a goal of shelling so many each day, it's a job that goes on long after the novelty has worn off! :-) We made perry last year mixed with our cider, it was good but *hyper* sweet.
