The inside is STUNNING. The Cadillac House has undergone a MAJOR renovation! You should come back to Lexington to update your post! : ) My family had a cottage on Cedar until 1999 then we moved over to Huron Bay Boulevard.Traceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07738807567655519400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-56451385109293718.post-67263933862681210582017-05-31T10:12:45.135-04:002017-05-31T10:12:45.135-04:00Thank you for the walk down memory lane! Walked past the stone cottage just about every day during the summer to get to the beach. How awesome it was growing up there in the 60's. Re...Wonderful presentation. I enjoyed it immensely.
Regarding the Eastpointe Kern house, as part of the family I would like to add that since the city had previously changed the zoning of that parcel to commercial the family had no choice but to sell it commercially. It remained residential only as long as a Kern descendant owned the property. Unfortunately there were none in a position to purchase the property when the last family residing there needed to move. We are also very thankful that the house remains as it is.Jerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06264190698511649967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-56451385109293718.post-39776262946792887722017-02-26T17:30:51.315-05:002017-02-26T17:30:51.315-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Jerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06264190698511649967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-56451385109293718.post-57312903804391434222017-02-25T08:29:37.724-05:002017-02-25T08:29:37.724-05:00Loved all the beautiful places you have shown us. ...Loved all the beautiful places you have shown us. It's still standing, occupied by the family that bought it from us in 1978. Best we could figure, it was (one of)the original homesteads in that area. And it has it's own ghost(s), too.
Romeo IS a beautiful, historic area. My brother now lives there, and I enjoy the occasional trip back. Just wanted to say as an exiled Michigander, I enjoyed this post so much—spent a lot of time camping with my family as a kid and just generally running all over Michigan, so many of these places are very familiar to me. My father's office is in Mount Clemens, too (formerly in the old Medea Building, alas, it is gone), so I watched over the years as the city declined, then rose again. It has been fascinating.

Anyhow, thanks for the memory tour. :) I had fun showing all these familiar places to my husband! The little 1844 home in Romeo has always been one of my favourites there—so funny that you picked it out as well!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15233479262926672923noreply@blogger.com
