Ken Was Missing At River of Time 2026

During the autumn time of year I can't think of a better place I'd rather reenact than at a pumpkin farm or a cider mill.
One of the biggest and best events,  which just so happens to be a timeline event,  is the River of Time held at Johnson's Pumpkin Farm in Saginaw.  I can tell you,  fall is all around,  even with the 70s temps.  The sun shone all the live-long day,  leaves are definitely changing,  and the orange pumpkins were everywhere.
Yep---autumn is here.
Sadly...I was not.
I was...ahem...lucky enough to come down with a pretty nasty head cold,  therefore I chose to stay home and take care of myself.  It was a tough decision to make for I always look forward to this event,  but I also realize that I didn't want to get any others sick,  nor did I want to get worse.
But...my wife,  our son,  and a few friends ended up going and I snatched a few of their pictures they took while there.

Timeline events,  such as River of Time,  are perfect places to sit with elders of the gentle race and see the pages in your history book come to life,  for it's here that we travelers through time and space can gather together...time-travelers of different periods in history,  and Saginaw's River of Time event is one of the best of the timeline events.
There is always room for more periods in time.  And it doesn't always have to be about war.

With this year of 2026 being the Semiquincentennial - America's 250th - these special timelines are even more special.  I only wish I could have been there.
But since my wife,  son,  and a few friends went,  I nick'd a few of their photos for today's post:

Charlotte and Norm

Norm portrays an 18th century minister,  so this was perfect for him.

1860s meets the 1770s.

My son and my wife.

Charlotte,  Patty,  and Jackie take a selfie.

Norm,  Patty,  Jackie,  and Charlotte -

Susan is a life-long spinner and has her own shop filled with all-things wool:
The Carrot Patch Farm

Richard Reaume:  "French Civilian Forces of the Interior,  more commonly known as the French Resistance.  My side cap is the type that was part of the French WWI military uniform.  From 1940 until D day,  the French military forces along with De Gule were in England."

Civil War period cannon.

There were others there representing the colonial period as well.

W.C. Badgley - is the tin typist.

Theresa was in her 1860s garb -- perfect for a tin type from W.C.  Badgley!

American Civil War - Union blue.

Desert Storm - 1991

A group shot over at Theresa's Cozy Cabin sutlery.

Norm,  Jackie,  and Bob/Ben

Look who Charlotte ran into - (not so young anymore)  EJ!
EJ tends to do more activities with the Voyageurs these days.

Special guest,  Ben Franklin

Normally I would have spoken at Paul Revere but since I did not go due to an illness,  the Tittabawasee Fife & Drum Corp stepped up to perform period music.

Charlotte was pooped out so she took a quickie nap!

Theresa,  Patty,  and Jackie

Bob Stark  (as Ben Franklin)  and his daughter,  Abby.

The Harvest Moon was a-rising on this September 26th.

Evening's light.
You may have noticed the lack of commentary here.
That's because I wasn't there.  Also,  most photos that I personally take I usually have something in mind to write about it when I snap it.  In all honesty,  I was hesitant to do a post at all on River of Time this year.  But then I figured since my friends went through the trouble of capturing these images,  it was the least I could do.  I appreciate my wife Patty,  and my friends Charlotte,  Norm,  Richard,  and Theresa for taking the photos I have posted here.
God willing,  I should be back at River of Time in 2027.

Until next time,  see you in time.
